From Paris With Love..
This is a city that is much anticipated by almost everyone!
My first time in Paris was for a 4 day youth summit which i had actually lost hope in attending due to the hectic process of obtaining a visa. Eventually, it worked out well for me and i received my passport on Friday in time to travel on Tuesday.
I arrived on a rainy and freezing cold Paris in the first week of March. I did not even care about the weather. I was just ecstatic that i have arrived this beautiful city that i only saw in movies. Thank God it was a direct Nairobi to CDG. Upon arrival I found out that all trains were on strike and had to take the bus to my hotel "Hotel Concorde Montparnasse"
These 4 days were so rewarding as i met incredible and inspiring young adults, visited a few lovely places in Paris, danced and partied french style, visited the sex district "Pigalle", visited the mayor, dined at the exclusive "Place Vendome" for the Royal Air Maroc gala, visited and made a speech at "UNESCO" Paris and so much more. I was so proud of myself for being 1/4 of the only Gambians that attended the program.
After this program i jetted off to Sweden, where i decided to be with my family for the next 45 days. 2 weeks later I received another ticket to go explore the unfinished adventures in Paris for a week. By this time i had met my boyfriend and we clicked so nicely immediately. He decided to follow me to Paris. Man i was confused as i had other plans for going to Paris lmao. Anyways i accepted, i didn't care because we really have great times together. He asked me what i would like him to consider while booking for accommodation, so i told him THE TOILET AND THE KITCHEN! i do not know how much i can emphasize on my love for toilets and kitchens! so he booked the most beautiful Airbnb penthouse (below)
One thing i loved about this guy from the beginning was his activeness, adventurousness, and always had an activity up on his sleeve. We spend our first night partying at his friends club, totally forgot the name and then headed to another club called "Papillion" for the after party. This night was incredible! His friends were African so best believe i was in my zone with the amazing music hehe.
That next morning we took a boat called "Bato Bus" and chose a whole day pass where you get in a boat taxi along "river siene" but able to hop off and hop in as you like. The boat stops at Tour Eiffel, Musee D'orsay, St Germaine, Notre Dame, Jardin des plantes, hotel de ville, louvre, and champs elysees. I have no idea how he found this but I LOVED IT.
I had all these fancy restaurants listed that i wanted to go to but as usual bae wanted to try authentic trip advisor rated local french restaurants. I just had to listen lol we just started dating, this guy cannot know i am crazy HAHAHAHAHA, not yet. Anyways i actually enjoyed the french delicacies and tiny restaurants.
On our last day in Paris, well his last day because i stayed to head to Germany the next day and then south of France to cannes (guys cannes backfired lol), he surprised me. As i said, i had a list of all the fancy places i wanted to go and finally he decided to treat me - save the best for last.
I really wanted to have lunch or dinner at "The Peninsula Hotel Paris" yes i like fancy things so what? ha! we went there for a lovely lunch before heading to "Sir Winston" for drinks before he left to the airport. Mind you, i looked like a crazy woman this day, definitely not how i wanted to look going to The Peninsula, i didn't even take pictures there because i looked like shit and i had to pretend exclusive and not JJC like i have never been to a nice place lol. omg, its not easy o.
Well, Paris off my bucket list! I would definitely not want to visit again as i have seen everything well minus DisneyLand and Opera Garnier and Crazy Horse and ok i do not mind visiting again but only for a day or two. MY GOAL NOW for France is the SOUTH! - Nice, Cannes, Monaco, St Tropez ya kno... God Dey InshaAllah. xo
